The word "THEATRE" comes from the old Greek word meaning, 'a place for seeing'. Today, just as in ancient Greece, a theatre is a place where different types of entertainments are performed in front of audience. But beyond that, Theatre is looked upon as a performing Art which assimilates within itself Music, Dance, Acting, Stage- crafts, Makeup, Costumes along with the artistic usage of modern technology via… Lights and Sounds. Drama and Theatre are the sources of entertainment for the layman and as the source of creativity and intelligence for the artists in their respective fields. The development of the man from the Stone Age to date is always accompanied with the dance, music as the sources of entertainment but we look at this field as a medium of instruction for the well-being and awareness of the society at large.
